Having a Good Summer in 2020Valor Counseling
Going through summer time during a global pandemic can be stressful. Wanting to take full advantage of the nice weather and being restricted can lead to you feeling defeated. Having a positive mindset can influence how your summer will go.
Here are some tips to help have the right mindset for the summer
Be present in the moment
Oftentimes we will try and fortune tell what will happen next with the corona virus restrictions. We may also compare what we are going through to what could be. Both of these mindsets can cause suffering and are unproductive. A good weapon against these thoughts is to just be present in the moment. In this moment there are positives and the future does not exist.
Schedule Something to Look Forward to
Once a week at least try and schedule something to look forward to. That can be trying a new food, walking a new trail, playing a game, or whatever activity you like. This will help keep you thinking positively.
Spend intentional time thinking about what you are grateful for. Spending a few minutes each day marinating in the feeling of gratefulness can do wonders for keeping a positive mindset
Take Care of Yourself
Try to exercise, eat right, sleep well, and generally take good care of your mental health. Do something each day to take care of yourself beyond the norm.
